Monday Tri Training at Island Lake Rec Area 6:30pm
Join us for weekly tri training sessions from the parking lot of Spring Mill Pond with USAT Level I Coach Karen on Mondays from June to September. All experience levels welcome. Swim 800-1500 yards in the pond, cycle a 13.5-mile loop of the park, and finish up with a 1-3 mile run (distances aren't set; flex as you wish). Good for short speed work / sprint tri prep / transition prep.
Thursday 5:45am & Sunday 6:00am Walnut Lake Swims
Join us for weekly open water swims in Walnut Lake with USAT Level I Coach Karen (from as early as April to as late as October depending on water temp). One across-&-back loop is about 1.5 miles (0.75 mile across), and we usually do 2 loops (sometimes 3). Perfect for half and full iron training and Swim to the Moon 5K & 10K prep. Water ranges from calm to choppy depending on wind. Two bathrooms onsite. Swimmers range from beginner to Kona qualifier to serious masters and ultra distance swimmers.
